Ready to host and recognise some of music’s biggest acts are the MTV VMAs

With seven nominations each, Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, and Kendrick Lamar are tied for most nominees. The song “Industry Baby,” which Harlow and Lil Nas X co-wrote, propelled them into nominations and put them up against Drake, Bad Bunny, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, and Lizzo for artist of the year.

Following closely behind with six nominations each are Harry Styles and Doja Cat, while Sheeran, Billie Eilish, Drake, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd each have five.

In addition to LL Cool J and Nicki Minaj, Harlow is serving as the show’s emcee. The VMAs will air starting at 8 p.m. Eastern and will be hosted in the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

MTV has stated that Minaj would get the show’s video vanguard award for her artistry, boundary-breaking hip-hop, and stature as a global superstar in addition to performing singles from throughout her career and accepting the honour. The award bears Michael Jackson’s name.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bad Bunny, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and others are all scheduled to perform.

Madonna is the only artist to have received a VMA nomination in each of the five decades and presently holds the record for most awards in MTV history (20 wins). As a result of her 14th studio album, “Madame X,” she received her 69th nomination.

For the first time since 2018, Lamar is nominated for a VMA in the best hip-hop, director, visual effects, editing, and video for good categories. His songs “family ties” and “N95” are also up for best cinematography.
